2010 URBAN HOTEL GROUP IRONMAN AUSTRALIA - ENTRY POLICY
The 2010 Urban Hotel Group Ironman Australia Triathlon in Port Macquarie will continue with the policy introduced in 2008 where athletes no longer need to qualify for the event.
In place of the qualifying system, is a 'Validation system' with Australian athletes and residents in Australia having to compete in, and simply complete, one of the races in the 2009/2010 Australian Half Ironman Championship Series or Ironman Western Australia.
International athletes (non resident in Australia do not need to validate their entry into Ironman Australia .

Ironman Australia Entry Procedure Summary:
- Entries open for all athletes 1 June 2009 . Enter and pay online at www.ironmanoz.com
- Ironman Australia Multi Finishers (5 times or more Ironman Australia finishes) are exempt from validating their Ironman entry.
- International entries are exempt from validating in the Australian Half Ironman Championship Series but are required to have completed at least a Long Course Triathlon.
- Intending Ironman Australia competitors can enter online either BEFORE or AFTER they have finished one or more of the Half Ironman Championship Series races required to validate their entry. Please note: competitors who are using the Ironman 70.3 in Geelong as their validation race will need to register prior to the race (by January 31).
- The confirmed entry list will be continually updated after each validation race. The final Ironman race field will be confirmed after the final race of the Series ie the Ironman 70.3 Geelong event in February 2010.
Failure to validate by the final race of the Series will mean an automatic withdrawal from the 2010 Ironman Australia . In these cases, athletes will be withdrawn and will receive 50% refund of entry fee.
Pro Policy
Athletes holding an Australian Pro license must validate their entry (even if Free Of Charge) to compete at the Ironman Australia. Ten (10) invitational athletes will be exempt from this policy rule.
