ROAD CLOSURES FOR URBAN HOTEL GROUP IRONMAN AUSTRLIA

BIKE COURSE
Pacific, Ocean and Houston Mitchell Drives will be temporarily closed during the bike course from 7.00am to 5.00pm however Houston Mitchell Drive and Ocean Drive are expected to be opened once the last cyclist has exited at Matthew Flinders Drive at approximately 3.45 pm. There will be allowance for restricted access for residents on these roadways in emergencies. The same temporary road closures are proposed for Buller, Short and Clarence Streets to, and including, Lighthouse Road and Matthew Flinders Drive.

Park Street will be closed from Bay Street to the top of Hastings River Drive from approximately 8.00am. Access to the Port Macquarie CBD will then be possible via Bay and Bellbowrie Streets to Hastings River Drive . Buller Street, Short Street from William to Clarence Streets and Clarence Street up to Murray Street will be closed from 4.00am to allow for erection of crowd control barricades up to 7.00am. Temporary access for essential services will be allowed during this period until 7.00am when the total temporary road closure will be put into effect.

Access to Settlement City will be possible from Hastings River Drive , Bellbowrie and Bay Streets. For Settlement Point/North Shore residents the ferry will operate. Park Street from Bay Street to Settlement Point will NOT be closed. There will be traffic control for one way contra flow between the Ferry and the Anchorage Road/Park Street intersection. Settlement Point residents will be able to access and egress on and from Settlement Point Road in conjunction with the North Shore traffic contra flow under traffic control conditions.

Lake Cathie residents , if needing to travel, can only do so south to Laurieton. The most difficult times will be between 8am and approximately 1.30pm with the greater number of cyclists on Ocean Drive.

For residents on the eastern side of Ocean Drive , exit is available at the Middle Rock Road intersection where traffic controllers will direct motorists left and into the slip lane on Ocean Drive at the intersection with Miala Street, for a right turn into Miala Street. From there, proceeding to Abel Tasman Drive for exit via Ocean Drive to Bonny Hills and beyond under traffic controller direction north and south (one way traffic only.)

Note that Houston Mitchell Drive will be closed.

For residents on the western side of Ocean Drive , exit is also via Abel Tasman Drive . Motorists will travel from that point under traffic controller direction north and south (one way traffic only) on the eastern side of Ocean Drive .

Those residents on the north side of the bridge at Lake Cathie north are asked to leave earlier than 8am where travel is necessary and/or leave vehicles on the south side of the bridge on the western side for access to Abel Tasman Drive.

RUN COURSE
Temporary road closures are mainly along Pacific Drive from Oxley Beach/Flagstaff Hill south to the turnaround at Rocky Beach Lookout opposite Arncliffe Street.

Council and Police approvals have been granted for the temporary closure of the roads involved but to allow limited access to residents affected primarily for emergencies.
