Refund Policy (TEAMS POLICY)

  • Withdrawals received before 5pm FRIDAY 5 DECEMBER 2008 - $200 cancellation fee applies
  • Withdrawals received on SATURDAY 6 & SUNDAY 7 DECEMBER 2008 – NO REFUND

The following conditions of entry apply to ALL TEAMS ENTRANTS. Please read them carefully before entering the race.

  1. The official online entry form must be completed by a nominated member of the Team on the Teams’ behalf who will be regarded as the “Team Captain”.
  2. Completion of entry form and payment of the entry fee represents acceptance of these entry conditions by all Team members.
  3. Triathlon Australia membership is optional for this Teams event. Those Team members who are not members of TA will be issued with a one-race membership which covers them for personal injury only during the Race.
  4. All competitors must be 18 years of age or older on Race Day – Sunday 7 December 2008.
  5. Members of a Team are not eligible for a slot at 2009 Ford Ironman World Championship (Hawaii).
  6. A team can be made up of 2 or 3 athletes. A team can be made up of any combination of male and female athletes.
  7. There are four (4) Teams categories – All Male, All Female, Mixed and Corporate.
  8. The organisers of the Ironman Western Australia Triathlon reserve the right to accept applications at its discretion and also to reject any application or issue special invitations.
  9. One Team member, preferably the appointed Captain, may register on behalf of their Team immediately following the 10.15am Team Orientation meeting on Saturday 6 December 2008. It is the responsibility of this Team member to distribute compulsory Race items eg ID wristbands, swim cap, race bib, timing chip, bike number plate, helmet number, reflective tape etc to the appropriate Team members.
  10. Upon completion of this online entry registration, AUD$200 (including GST) of the entry fee is non-refundable up to 5pm on 5 December 2008, and the total entry fee is non-refundable on 6 December & 7 December 2008.
  11. A member of a Team may be substituted by a new participant and notification must be received in writing to the Ironman Western Australia Organisation at admin@ironmanwa.com by Friday 28 November 2008.
  12. Any Team member withdrawing from Saturday 6 December 2008 will render the withdrawal of the entire team and no refund of Team entry will apply.
  13. The medical question section of the application must show full details of all Medical conditions, general health and surgical procedures within the previous twelve months. Medical consultation/clearance may be necessary from a medical practitioner prior to acceptance into Ironman Western Australia. In all cases, the final decision of medical consideration is at the discretion of Ironman Western Australia's Medical Director.
  14. It is the responsibility of the Team Captain to ensure all Team members are acquainted with each other for emergency purposes and be fully aware of these entry and waiver conditions.
